The story of rebelz

The story of Rebelz begins with CEO and founder Daniel Rosendahl. Below are some words from him to describe the early journey of Rebelz.

“I started training grappling/jiu jitsu in 2007. Since I was a kid I’ve always dreamed of having my own company, so in 2009 I started planing for a e-commerce site for jiu jitsu gear. The website was named Submission Fighting and was launched in 2010 and the warehouse was a room in the basement of my house. Over the next few years, Submission Fighting transformed slowly into what became Rebelz. The name Rebelz was applied in 2013 and it was a reflection of how I felt during that time. It felt like all other companies were really big and I was all alone fighting to make a living, like a rebel.”

Since then, Rebelz has moved four times with each time growing slightly bigger. We’re now at our fourth place, or fifth if you count the basement.

The intention with Rebelz has always been more than simply selling and shipping products. We want to connect with our customers over the passion that we all share, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and foster a community where Rebelz turns into more than just a store. It’s a place to meet up, hang out, play pinball, scratch some records and of course; scrap.

That’s why we’ve arranged several events over the years such as seminars, thrift days, watch-alongs of big competitions and so on. And of course Friday rolls, every Friday afternoon.

And for customers abroad, who might not be able to visit and share the sense of belonging that we try to instill, we at least try our very best to offer the best customer service there is. No need for any lengthy forms, tickets, bots or anything like that. Just send an email or call, and we’ll always get back to you as soon as possible to offer understanding and humane customer support.

It’s hard to put into words what Rebelz means to us. Thank you for your continued support!
